Connor glanced around, trying to figure out what they were supposed to be doing by copying everyone else. They all had dates who were shorter than them, but that wasn't difficult to correct for. The difficult part seemed to be putting his feet in the right place, and not on Brandi's.

Brandi laughed quietly at Connor's attempts. He wasn't bad, just clumsy. Maybe she would teach him to actually dance sometime. That would be nice, she thought. She missed dancing.

"You're smiling," Connor noted. "This can't be that bad, then, right?"

Brandi shrugged, still smiling. "Could be worse."

"I'll take it," Connor said cheerfully.

Brandi watched Connor carefully. Maybe she had actually gotten knocked out last night when she and Anya ran into those goons, and this was all just some weirdly realistic dream. "Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not sure I count as a reasonable lady," Brandi replied, grinning. "We should probably get back to the Grainne soon."

"Well you're more reasonable than I am," Connor said. He paused. "That's not hard, admittedly, but it's gotta count for something. And I guess you're right."
